Houston Dynamo FC are not necessarily in trouble, but are desperate for more than one point as they’ve earned a draw in their last four matches with their last win coming all the way back on May 22nd against the Vancouver Whitecaps. They don’t have it easy with a three game road trip starting first with the Seattle Sounders who have yet to lose a game this season. That being said, the Sounders have drawn two in a row and have almost as many wins at Lumen Field as they do draws so points are on the table – especially with international call-ups in play.
For Tab Ramos, an easy call is to put Marko Marić in goal. He had a mistake against Sporting Kansas City, but has been a huge reason the Dynamo have remained competitive in their close games these last few weeks.
Along the backline we know that Maynor Figueroa and Oscar Boniek García will be out due to international duty so choosing a starting four will be more difficult. Starting at right back I think we have to go with Zarek Valentin who has been a staple under Tab Ramos. At left back, it’s more difficult to choose as Ramos has gone back and forth between Adam Lundkvist and Sam Junqua, but in this instance I think he goes with Lundkvist for a very good reason. Partnering with the co-captain Tim Parker in central defense I think we could see Junqua get the call until some of the new signings get adjusted to the Ramos way of things.
The midfield – for once – might be one of the easiest areas of the pitch to predict for the Dynamo with international absences. The two deeper sitting midfielders should be Derrick Jones and Matías Vera with Joe Corona occupying the number 10 position. It’s possible Darwin Quintero gets a shout which could readjust the formation, but at the moment especially with Vera rested this is the lineup I think we see unless Jones is injured.
Up top Maxi Urruti has been on fire and should remain the starting center forward. Memo Rodríguez and Fafà Picault should be the two wingers alongside Urruti with Pasher out.

My Projected Starting Lineup:
This is just the lineup that I think we’ll see, but what do you think we’ll see? What should the starting XI look like in the Dynamo’s game against the Seattle Sounders? Let us know in the comments below!
