Houston Dynamo FC have struggled during the summer stretch having not won a game since late June while their opponents, Austin FC, have won three games straight and are unbeaten in league play since the end of May. Both sides didn’t have a good 2021 season with Houston just below Austin for the bottom of the Western Conference, Austin did a lot to turn their fortunes around sitting in 2^nd in the West at the moment. Houston made some offseason splashes, notably signing Héctor Herrera who made his debut over the weekend, but still need to put together consistent performances to get them out of the 11^th spot in the West.
