Tony DiCicco to Consult for Dash

The Houston Dash have hired former U.S. Women's National team coach Tony DiCicco as a consultant for the team.

Tony DiCicco will being consulting with the Houston Dash as they work to hire a head coach and put together a team for the 2014 NWSL season. He will be working with managing director Brian Ching and team president Chris Canetti helping to build the roster through an up coming expansion draft as well as the NWSL College Draft.

"I am excited about the opportunity to consult for the Houston Dash and work with Chris Canetti and Brian Ching while they interview for a coach and build a roster," said DiCicco in a statement. "The Dash are creating an excellent situation for players to train and play and I have been very impressed with how the Houston Dynamo organization is behind the Dash playing in the NWSL."

DiCicco was the head coach of the U.S. Women's National Team from 1994-1999. During which time the team won a gold medal at the 1996 Olympics and won the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup with an overall record of 103-8-8. He also coached the Boston Breakers from 2009-2011 in the Women's Professional Soccer league.
