Despite a 2-0 lead through 59 minutes, the Houston Dash notched their second draw of the season with a 2-2 result against the Chicago Red Stars Friday night at BBVA Compass Stadium .
Kealia Ohai jumpstarted Houston's offense in the 28th minute when she was brought down in the box by Red Stars defender Arin Gilliland. Rachel Axon stepped up to the spot and curled her finish inside the right post. The goal marked the English midfielder's first in the NWSL.
Ohai found herself on the board for the second Dash goal in the 57th minute. Melissa Henderson played Ohai into the open field and the blazing forward capitalized on the 1v1 opportunity with a low strike past Red Stars goalkeeper Abby Dalton.
Three minutes later Huerta answered for the Red Stars scoring her first goal of the match. Huerta received Jen Hoy's chip and placed her shot past Dash keeper Bianca Henninger. Reigning NWSL Player of the Week, Huerta fired home the equalizer with nine minutes left in the match to keep Chicago's unbeaten streak alive.
Brittany Bock made her return to action Friday night since tearing her ACL in the 2014 season opener. Bock nearly scored early but her glancing header sailed just over the crossbar. Offensive production was a problem for Houston as they found themselves outshot 18-9 in the loss.
The Dash begin a two-game road trip next Saturday against the undefeated Portland Thorns.
